Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2016 Verified Purchase This is an over sized, board book reproduction, of the 1949 original golden book that we grandparents had when we were young- only this is sturdy so my little sister cannot tear out the pages in this one! Tho likely she has outgrown that habit, it's safe from the grandkids as well. We kept this one for ourselves, and is so big, we used it as part of the decor in our game room, which has an 'oldies' themed tree. It's app 9'' x 11'', seems to be a faithful repro of the original, the binding allows it to lay flat while reading, but possibly the binding may not hold up to abuse. Since it is special to us I wouldn't leave it in with the mass of books the little ones have anyway, but read it to them when they visit, perfect size for that. Am happy to see that the company seems to be bringing out some board book repros of the 'oldies but goodies' that we loved as kids, will be buying more, especially the over sized ones.
