Instead you MUST remove the sanding pad FIRST and then remove the attachment. How disappointing! Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2020 Size: 1-Pack Verified Purchase This thing makes sanding walls a breeze. I was able to attach it to my standard extendable Woolster painting pole. It takes a bit getting used to but does a very good job of sanding down uneven spots on the wall. We attach a shop vac hose to the painters pole around where the disc is to capture most of the sanding dust that you'll get. It significantly helps keep the dust down in the air. Be careful when replacing the sandpaper. The foam pad is velcroed to the metal housing. The sandpaper gets velcroed to the pad itself and is a very thin layer. What I am getting at is don't just pull the foam out thinking its part of the sand paper. You can purchase a pack of sandpaper discs for cheap and they will last you your entire house painting project plus more. Indeed, some of the stories read very much like a modern YA book of parables with animals who seem much more human than the humans. Big surprise, right? We humans are a monstrous lot. That being said, this isn't just the source of Disney's Jungle Book, although a part of it is. It's also full of other great stories. Most memorable is Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the mongoose who kill.. Lesson learned from this book: having been much- and long-beloved does not automatically make a book worth reading. The only particular reason I picked this one off my shelf was the feeling it's a "classic" of children's lit, which I felt slightly ashamed of never having had a chance to enjoy – I assumed must be classically marvellous. (I mean, I don't know if I ever even watched the Disney adaptation all the way through. I was actually expecting all Mowgli stories. More than half are not, act.. The stories of Mowgli and his friends are splendid. Yes, Kipling was an unabashed supporter of colonialism and orientalist, he nonetheless was able to create some of the most vivid stories of animals and children and this one is certainly the best.
Historical Context of Dreamland In 1996, Purdue Pharma released OxyContin, a time-release formula pill containing the opioid oxycodone. Purdue used aggressive sales techniques to market the pill to primary care physicians, and it was largely advertised as an effective treatment for chronic pain. The release of OxyContin coincided with a growing movement in the medical world to destigmatize opiate painkillers and rethink the way pain was treated in a variety of ailments from terminal illnesses to chronic conditions. The result was a medical community and public sphere that believed pain could and should be prevented at all costs. Thus, when OxyContin hit the market, America's doctors were primed and eager to accept this apparent "miracle" solution to pain. In reality, OxyContin was not as harmless as the pharmaceutical industry claimed—it was in fact highly addictive, and molecularly similar to heroin. However, citing erroneous studies, Purdue misbranded OxyContin as virtually nonaddictive, and in the following decades, doctors across America overprescribed the drug, subsequently producing a new generation of addicts in the poorest, most vulnerable regions of America.
